DidaktikDesign

DidaktikDesign is the name of a group of researchers and doctoral students at the Department of Curriculum Studies and Communication, Stockholm University.

DidaktikDesign is mainly concerned with research, but is also engaged in developmental projects and course activities. E.g. has DidaktikDesign initiated a research school for teachers and a master course for writers and producers of textbooks/educational media.

The research deals with studies of textbooks and educational media, communication in classrooms and on the Internet, transprofessional communication, the role of narratives in learning and relations between academic, professional training and professional work.

The research profile is focuses on the role of educational design for learning, especially the role of old and new educational media and other artefacts, interaction between man and environment, and different kinds of assessments modules for developments.

“Didaktik” is related to learning as an aspect of interaction, related to traditions in different disciplinary fields and school subjects, institutional framing and the individual, and the use of multimodal resources in communication.

"Design" stands for "point out" or "point ahead". Design is related to functions and qualities of artefacts, but also to what characterises different organizational and communicative models for learning. Design is therefore applicable to studying educational systems and learning processes.
